Make sure that firefox is not blocking a pop-up window. With my school, when I log in through the webpage, it opens up a secondary page behind...that really only happens on my window/linux lappy...not on the mac laptop.
I don't think the battery is soldered to anything. After watching the video on revision3 of them taking apart a nano, the battery came out just fine.

Agreed. Now for my question. For the batteries off the internet...do you think it would be ok to get those for backup? I've heard stories of bad batteries doing bad things to macs.
From what I have heard, it is best to keep the battery activity high...that is to say...make sure to monthly deplete the charge and then recharge it. This keeps the battery cells active.
I guess the main idea is to keep the battery juice coming out and going in on a regular basis.
I hope...
Have you tried:
Replacing the memory?
Removing all cards but the memory cards?
Only have essnetial componentry plugged into the mobo (HDD, video, memory)?
One thing to consider...if you ship by some carriers (UPS, Fedex, etc) insured...if the equipment is damaged they will pay for it.
So I think shipping it would be a better deal in the long run...and you could probably ship it overnight...arriving the same time when you land.
I'm not one to run on hype...and maybe this is hype. But, if industry leaders such as Microsoft, Intel, etc. actually implement palladium do you guys think you will buy systems which actually use it?
I, for one, plan on keeping a lot of my systems now which don't have any trace of palladium...
Ha, well, to tell you the truth I have already considered it. I will be graduating from college in about a year...hopefully into a well paying job...then it will be time to reconfigure the office with mac's and one PC ;). The PC will be a hoss though as it will be used for gaming.
I have a...
I made the jump a while back. It's funny. Most times you will probably be torn between using the PC and the Apple. I, myself, do that....but tend to use the apple more often than not.
Hmm, if it is only $99 I may have to check it out. Gonna do some research to see if $99 is the overall price (including install).
Yes, I am from Pittsburgh. Used to run a LAN group called SCOGP (Steel City Online Game Players). My friend and I are thinking about starting it back up again...
Everytime that I go to a store looking for a wifi adapter that might be compatible with macs, I come up short handed. See, I never got the bluetooth/wifi upgrade for my mini cause I thought I could find something...I know they make bluetooth adapters in USB flavor, but what about wifi adapters...
BennyB...it might also be the place that you are currently living/staying. If that place is not grounded, I believe no matter what you do, the laptop won't be grounded.
Sounds like a corrupt file, possibly boot file. Reinstall the OS if you can...but I'm sure others here know things you can do before resorting to the reinstall.
A side note, the mouse usually does not move around when one types on these things. kmeson...is it the way you type? Sounds like you may have a faulty trackpad.
I invested into Apple stock about 9 months ago...since then it has done nothing but increase in price. And...there was a 2 for 1 split half-way in between there. So it more than doubled my earnings :)
I feel really stupid cause I can't figure out how to get a program to compile using xcode. Any help? Don't get me wrong, not stupid, just having trouble (installed it 2 days ago)--and I've just been compiling from the command line.
It sounds like a broken contact on the keyboard...possibly relay into the computer. Since he set the repeat and delay down I feel as though that knocks out problems to the computer itself...could be wrong though.
Take it back and go to a 'Genius' at the Apple store. They'll probably replace it. If you're not near a store, just call them up...I bet they might replace it then too.
Update:
Fedora Core 4 automatically detected my card. That was nice...but it wouldn't communicate with the AP. I narrowed this down to the WEP. For one reason or another, the AP just would not communicate with the linux laptop.
I disabled it for now until I figure out what the problem...
Note: This works in Tiger 10.4.
I figured out how to do this. Basically go into System Preferences and then down to Accounts. From there you can pick your users. There should be 4 items across the top once a user is selected (Password, Picture, Login Items, Parental Controls). Go to Login...
