Come back to us when it comes closer to the time you are building. The parts you have listed are already being phased out and the next generation of processors is coming w/ Core 2 Duo (Conroe). C2D should be more widely available w/ reasonable prices for both the processor and C2D mobos...
I have a 30GB Video Ipod and I cannot live a day without it (because I love music..not necessarily the player)..but I am not 100% sure if I should recommend it to you. iTunes and the interface/clickwheel is excellent...but the battery life is HORRIBLE. Of course you have probably heard this from...
Not exactly sure but I know iStar makes a Redundant PSU (its 500W x 2 and I believe OverdrivePC has this as an option for server PCs.) They are also known for making hot-wap hard drive bays. Looks like they make components built for for servers.
glad to see that someone from the [H] decided to pick up this monitor. How is the 3.1 webcam? Glad to see there is more competition in the widescreen display market these days.
rofl so you can almost build a whole PC based on just Fatal1ty products..So far he has:
The Abit mobo
Creative Mouse
Gaming Pad
Creative X-Fi Soundcard
Zalman CPU and VGA cooler
and now the Zalman case and XFX videocard
*sarcasm* Can't wait til they create a Fatal1ty HDD and Optical...
You can save a little bit on the PSU by getting this FSP Group PSU or the Sytrin Nextherm and use the saved $ on getting a better mouse. I would go with the MX518 or you might want to look into buying the Logitech G3 that is going to release soon (has the MX310 body style which some people...
I agree with sbin. The 7600GT may be a better card but you just said
He should've bought a non CF board if he wanted to use nvidia..but then again if he did save money on the mobo he could've bought a 7900GT or X1800XT. Since he already bought the CF mobo, he might as well get an ati card...
Are you selling this case on ebay? I saw this auction and thought the pics seemed familiar...lol did someone steal your pics? One of my friends was selling those Logitech playgear cases and not only did someone steal his pics..but they stole his entire ebay layout and description.
I...
Dual core is not necessary at the moment..but if you plan to keep this PC for a while I would go dual core since it is going to be utilized more in the near future. If you are going to buy now, you might as well get an AM2 X2 3800+ because it is newer and uses DDR2 RAM. (it may not be much of a...
I agree. Atleast get a 19" LCD unless if there is a particular reason why you would have to get 17". The Viewsonic VX monitors can be had for around $260 shipped. (There is a rebate on te VX924 @ Newegg)
I also agree on dropping the Rosewill..there are some units that are actually ok but you...
It is good if you don't mind all that plastic on a $100+ case :p . The new black one looks nice though. I'm probably going to get the 7B Plus II instead of a P180 because I hate doors on my cases.
^wow same build I was imagining for myself, 454Casull, except for I would probably prefer a Lian Li 7B Plus II, a 500GB Seagate HDD and that ~$700 NEC 20.1" WS LCD. :D
The Viewsonic is more budget friendly though haha. Do you guys think that Core 2 Duo will be that price when it first comes...
Yeah I have the same ipod, 30GB video ipod. I'm glad to hear your G5 works w/ the G15, t3chyo888. I have a SFF PC on my desk so I don't really need my mouse to be connected close to the keyboard but atleast now I know the USB ports on the G15 have some purpose now. :p
The USB hub for me is kinda worthless because its USB 1.1 and is not enough to power my ipod or wireless adapter. :( Wish they had USB 2.0 ports instead. Still I think the G11/G15 programmable on-the-fly macros and media controls are worth it. It doesn't look like the Eclipse II has anything...
ZOMG 99 CENTS? Im gonna buy 349023849038 of these...go back into time and resell them! Brilliant!
Or maybe I can just go back in time and invent Microsoft Windows...and I shall also make a pitstop in the 90's when when McDonalds had the McRib.
Haha really tho..if you take a computer class...
Sorry to bring this post back from the dead but is there any updates with this monitor? It seems they are sold out at newegg so maybe someone from the [H] has ordered one to be the guinea pig :p Maybe this monitor is balance between the Viewsonic, which lacks some features for the cheaper...
QFT. It's basically the same thing as the Fotron Epsilon except for the color, packaging and the warrranty. I don't know about Australian retailers but Newegg has the OCZ GameXStream for about $120 with rebate (less than the Fortron 600W). It should power your system perfectly and is cheaper...
nice..there was an exculsive SPCR version of the black P180, but I'm glad to see they made one that will be easier to find for the general public. Hopefully they fixed the door problem with this one. I might have to use this for my next rig as well.
Mabye you should've asked before you bought it? Yea its true that you could have bought slightly better stuff for the money, but you willl not notice too much of a difference. If you are happy with what you bought then you shouldn't care what others think. And if you ask for opinions..please...
I didn't really like the red version of the case when I saw it, but the black one w/ blue lighting actually looks pretty nice. It looks a lot better than the old XPS cases, which I thought were too plain and generic-looking. Dell will probably get more buyers with this XPS because of the new...
Hahah of course...great review. A lot of pictures...I like pictures :p
Oh yea Steeeeve, it says "You are not authorized to view this resource.
You need to login." when I tried to look at the mico cases section. Do I need to join something to view this?
Looks like its going to be a great build that should last you a while. Post pics when you are done please :D
I want to see how well the components fit in the Ultra Microfly as opposed to the X-qpack. I've like what I've seen so far in reviews for the Microfly..wish it was around when I built...
? I thought the core names Manchester and Toledo referred to the CPU. The Toledo X2s are better than the Manchester because the L2 Cache is 2 x 1MB, as apposed to 2 x 512MB that the Manchesters have. AMD Dual core opterons are great processors, but since you are not overclocking you should get...
looks good but you can get better ram for that price or a few dollars more. This G. Skill kit that everyone is recommending as well as other 2GB kits by Mushkin, Corsair etc. that isnt value. Since you are going with the cheaper processor you should overclock and the RAM will help.
Yea some other people were saying this to but the keys on mine do not work. Perhaps there is a problem with my USB ports because 2 of the 4 ports do not work at all with any USB peripheral (I installed drivers properly..but I remember one of the USB porst making a spark when I unplugged a cord...
Im gonna have to agree with everyone else in getting an Full/OEM computer. The OS and monitor take a bulk of the budget. When you are buying a budget system w/ monitor and peripherals included..it is best to go OEM. Ive seen some Compaqs with 17" LCDs, keyboard/mouse, DVD burners and 250GB HDDs...
Hey sup [H] Forum.
I just got the G15 and Im lovin it. However, the keyboard does not power on during BIOS, and does not do so until Windows has booted. This is not good because I need to access BIOS sometimes and can not do so (unless if I use another keyboard..which is what I'm doing...
Please don't tell me you ordered yet! If you don't want to wait for Intel Core Duo 2...atleast don't blow all your money on a processor that won't be worth $800+ in a few months. The FX-57 is a waste of money when you can get much cheaper processor, such as the Opteron 146 for around $150 and...
The G3 is basically a pimped out MX300. Its good for lefties and those who don't care for the egronomic design that the MX5xx series and G5/G7 have. I'm feeling the color scheme.
The G11 looks sort of funny without an LCD, but I guess Logitech decided to make somethin to compete with the...
I would probably get the Opteron (dual core) or X2. The 144/146 are good now and can be overclocked, but it's still going to be single core, and if you want this upgrade to last you longer than your last one, then you better get dual core now. (Either that or you can just get cheap stuff now and...
argh this monitor looks perfect for me as I don't really care about height adjustment and have no need for the USB ports on my Dell 2005FPW...
I doubt I can still return my dell since I've had it for a few weeks now..is it worth it to sell my dell (can probably get $300-ish for it) and buy...
G. Skill 2GB kit is a bit cheaper...but not much. You may have to drop it to 1GB for now, but you might want to get the 2GB kit because they are cheaper and is necessary to run BF2 smoothly. Maybe you could use onboard sound for a while until you get more $? And if you get the Opteron 165, the...
What about wrapping and trimming the cables? :p
It does get a little crowded in the qpack but you can tuck the extra cables if you aren't using both 5.25" bays. I would still wrap them tho. FPS Group FTW!
Haha glad you got it to work. :p I was not too fond of the OCZ modstream modular cables in my qpack because they are not too flexible, so I just put it in my other rig and got a fortron bluestorm for the qpack. I would have bought the Liberty if I had the money because of the modular cables...
Hey I had the modstream before but it would not fit in my qpack even with a short length DVD burner (Plextor 740A). Don't know the dimensions on the 716A but even if it was slightly shorter, I had no room at all with my setup since the modstream was so big. You have to factor in the room for the...
Are you going to overclock? If so you can look in the [H]ot Deals for the Opteron 146 from monarch. It has overclocking potential to be go as high as FX-57 speeds. You should get atleast 1GB of RAM, there are some good deals from newegg on 2GB kits. As far as the power supply is concerned..this...
http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/Shopping/ShoppingCart.asp?submit=ChangeItem
Leaves you around $600-700 for monitor. There might be still deals from monarch computer for the Opteron 165. Other options..
-get dual 7900GTs (or keep the GTX and add another later)
-add another hard drive...
4GB of RAM seems like overkill, and you can drop down the the X2 3800+ and do a light overclock.
Save the money and get this
pimpin monitor :p (although $700 does seem a little over the top...haha I want it though!)
O and $30 for a M$ OEM mouse? Why not spend a few dollars more and...
